Description
Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Human Resources & Payroll Manager with 2-4 years of recent experience.
The Human Resources & Payroll Manager contributes to the accomplishment of Human Resources practices and objectives. Helps with the implementation of services, policies, and programs; and assists facility managers with HR issues.
Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of support and administration activities in employment, compensation, unemployment insurance, benefits, employee relations, training and related areas. Prepares and maintains employee human resources files, records, and information. Processes departmental forms, records and documents. May interview employment applicants. Screens, evaluates and conducts reference checks on candidates. Maintains requisition and advertising logs. Coordinates job postings and resume routing activities.
The HR/Payroll Manager carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: departmental development, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organization development, executive administration, and employment. Human Resources & Payroll Manager assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties.
Recruiting and staffing
Performance management and improvement tracking systems
Coordinates employee orientation, development, and training logistics and recordkeeping
Assisting with employee relations
Facility-wide committee facilitation and participation
Compensation and benefits administration and recordkeeping
Employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health reporting
Maintaining employee files and the HR filing system
Assisting with the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR office.
Payroll Responsibilities:
On a weekly basis uploads time clock entries into payroll system.
Computes overtime, sick leave, vacation and holiday pay, as needed.
Ensure all punches have been verified and approved by dept. supervisor prior to processing
Maintain records and files related to federal and state withholding taxes, FICA, insurance deductions, benefits and payroll deductions.
Set-up and maintain vacation and sick accruals.
Update and generate reports directly from payroll system
Maintains payroll file - employees’ payroll file, time sheets, reports, etc.
Requirements :
Strong working knowledge of HR policies with advanced knowledge of MS Office Excel, Word, Internet, Outlook and Paychex/ADP with ReportWriter. Must possess the ability to type proficiently. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are essential in this position. Candidate must possess excellent planning, organizational and prioritization skills a must. SEIU 1199 and HR experience working in a nursing home, a plus.
This position requires the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times with respect to appearance, communication, and behavior. Must be able to multi task effectively, and use time productively and efficiently to meet challenging goals/deadlines. This is a very transactional position with a lot of repetitive duties.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Two to five years of general Human Resources courses or equivalent experience. Requires a general understanding of human resources administration and business operations. Excludes those with full supervisory responsibilities. This is the normal entry level to the professional human resources family of jobs.
